What I Wore: Chicago

If you’ve read my post from a few days ago, you know that I just returned from a trip to Chicago last weekend. While there, I wore one of my favorite outfits ever: a lace crop top, pencil skirt, black jacket, and statement necklace. I purchased the crop top and skirt last April and wore the ensemble to my brother’s high school graduation.

The jacket I purchased at H&M. I honestly have a real problem with jackets: I’m obsessed! They instantly pull an outfit together and always make me look and feel professional. Plus, I’m sensitive to the cold and air-conditioning, so I am never without a jacket or sweater. The one I linked to below is not the same one I wore in Chicago, but I do have that particular jacket in white as well. Love it!
The crop top I purchased at Express. It was available in ivory and black, and, let me tell you, it was a hard decision back in April as to which color I would purchase. I wanted both, of course, but told myself that one would be enough. It's not availabe anymore (I'm sure it was popular!), but I found a super cute one that is similar.
The tan skirt, on the other hand, I do have in two colors (the other being basic black). Purchased at H&M, these skirts are under $30 and amazing basics. They are fully lined and fit the way I prefer pencil skirts to fit. I couldn’t find the exact skirt online, but they are still in stores (I may have been out shopping this afternoon…)
Have you ever been in Charming Charlie’s? It’s overwhelming yet amazing, am I right? I find that if I have a specific outfit in mind when I enter the store, I’m usually better off. Otherwise, I wander around the store forever, completely forgetting all of the jewelry that I already have in my closet. Anyway, I got this mint and gold necklace there for under $20. I absolutely adore statement necklaces. I have far too many and seem to always be adding a new one to my collection! This necklace is actually still available in two different colors online, and I would love a second color!
Unfortunately, most of the items I couldn’t find online anymore, but I did find super similar items so you can shop my look for yourself.
