Intention

What is your intention?

Today, in the first module of my IIN Health Coaching program, the question was posed: What is your intention?

This isn't an easy question. It forced me to look at my goals and aspirations and really write down a specific intention for the next year. I asked myself several questions in this process, including:

Where do I want to be in a year in regards to my career?

What will I be doing each day to serve others and myself?

How will I be spreading my passion for health and fitness to the world?

Simply put, intentions are compasses toward our goals; they guide our decision-making everyday so that we can achieve our goals.

These intentions are not static; they can grow, evolve, and change over time. This is a point that really struck me. What my goal is now, at the start of IIN, will not be the same at the end of IIN, and that’s okay.

All that matters is that I embrace my intention, no matter how much it changes or evolves, and make sure that my time and resources are aligned with my intention. Otherwise, I will be wasting precious time on actions that don’t bring me closer to my intention.

What is your intention for the next year? I encourage you to write it down and place it where you can see it every day, so that you are constantly reminded of your goals and aspirations. Let's embark on this year of intention together!
