Happy Thanksgiving!

What a great time, especially before the holiday season begins, to take a step back and really ponder all that you are grateful for, in order to prepare your heart for the season. When we truly take the time to think about all that we have been blessed with, it makes all of our stress and troubles seem much more insignificant.
What are you grateful for on this Thanksgiving Day? I’ll start with my list:
First, I’m thankful for faith. God has always been a part of my upbringing; however, recently, I’ve noticed a strengthening in my faith and trust in God’s plan for me. I’ve always had a hard time with giving up control, but I know that God will not let me fail. My faith will guide me through even the toughest of challenges.
Second, I’m thankful for my journey. Recently, I looked back over all that I’ve been through and accomplished in my short 22-year life. This was an eye-opening exercise to look back on the trials and triumphs that I have faced and see how I emerged stronger and changed for the better.
Finally, I’m thankful for my family. My parents are so supportive of my lifestyle and my goals, and they never cease to surprise me with their generosity and overwhelming support. No matter where my life takes me, I know that I will always have their love. They truly are my best friends.
After contemplating all of my blessings, I hope to continue this practice into the holiday season. My goal is to focus less on what I want or need, and instead focus on all that I have to be grateful for. God has blessed me in so many countless ways, most of which probably go unnoticed. I pray that this season I can spend more time with God and take the time to seek out all of my blessings.
What are you goals for the holiday season? What are you grateful for? Take the time to sit down for just five minutes and write down your list. You’ll be surprised how it can change your outlook and attitude!
