Five Friday Favorites + Exciting News!

Five Friday Favorites (try saying that one ten times fast!), where I share five of my favorite things from the week! But first, some exciting news:
I have a new job!
I’m so excited to announce that I was hired as the Group Fitness Manager at the UNL Campus Recreation Center. I will be assisting with the logistics of the Group Fitness Program, as well as helping coordinate the Group Fitness Outreach program. Additionally, I was also hired at the Rec Center as a Group Fitness Instructor to teach Group Fitness classes in the spring! I am blessed to have these opportunities to spread my love of fitness and wellness, and I cannot wait for 2016 to arrive!
Okay, now on with my Five Friday Favorites:
Thanksgiving break: need I say more? It was a super-long weekend celebration of not leaving the house, and, let me just say, it was glorious! I was able to get a ton of sewing projects completed, as well as just relax with my family and watch football.
On Tuesday, I officially presented my final group project of my college career. After I left the class, I felt this sense of weightlessness, as the stress about the project was lifted from my shoulders. Now, I can just coast through until the end of the semester.
Leg day was Thursday. I wish everyday could be leg day, but I guess it’s only fair to train the other parts of my body as well. I love squats, deadlifts, and, my new favorite, weighted glute bridges. They are a killer, but totally worth it.
I purchased my cap and tassel for graduation (I'm borrowing a gown), which is only 15 days away! Wow, that just got real. I can’t wait to decorate my cap. I’m not sure how yet (A trip to JoAnn’s will solve this dilemma I’m sure!), but I want to include four items that symbolize four of my favorite things: health, fitness, fashion, and God.
The finalized group fitness schedule for Spring 2016 is now available! As I mentioned above, I will be teaching at the UNL Campus Recreation Center on both City and East Campuses. On Tuesdays next semester, I’ll be teaching Barbell Strength at 4pm on city campus and HIIT (High-intensity Interval Training) Kettlebell at 6pm on east campus. On Thursdays, I’ll be teaching Hard Core, a class focused on form rolling and core work, at 3pm on city campus. I cannot wait to start planning and creating workouts for these classes! My fitness-career dream is starting to materialize!
